Members are the people at your MSP who log in to ZestMSP — technicians, dispatchers, account managers, and admins. This article covers inviting new Members, managing pending invitations, and updating the team list as people join or leave.
How Member access works
Every Member has two things that control what they can do:
- Role — a system-level permission tier. ZestMSP offers Owner, Admin, and Technician (one Owner per account, plus as many Admins and Technicians as you need).
- Assigned user groups — the User Groups they belong to, which determine which Queues they can work tickets in.
Role decides what someone is allowed to administer. User Groups decide which work shows up in their Workfeed. Most teammates only need User Groups configured well — the Role only matters for admin-heavy users.
Invite a new Member
- Go to Team Management → Members (or Invitations).
- Click + Invite a new member (or + Invite new member from the Invitations page).
- Enter the Member's email address.
- Set their Role (Technician, Admin, or Owner).
- Optionally pre-assign User Groups so they have work waiting on them when they log in.
- Send the invitation.
The Member receives an email with a link to set their password and join your account.
Track pending invitations
Open Team Management → Invitations to see anyone who's been invited but hasn't accepted yet. If the page shows "You do not have any invited members yet," everyone's in.
From here you can re-send an invitation that's been sitting for a while, or remove an invitation if it was sent in error.
Manage your current team
The Team Management → Members list shows everyone who has accepted their invitation. Columns:
- Full Name — with avatar
- Role — Owner, Admin, or Technician
- Assigned user groups — the groups they belong to
Update a Member's User Groups
The cleanest way to update group assignments is from the User Groups page:
- Go to Team Management → User Groups.
- Click the group you want to update.
- Use Assign members or Remove member on that group's detail.
See Create and assign User Groups for the full workflow.
Remove a Member
To remove someone from the account:
- Open Team Management → Members.
- Check the box next to their name.
- Click Delete.
Their tickets and time entries remain in the system for history and reporting — they just lose access.
Tip: Before removing a Member, reassign any open tickets where they're the Primary resource. Use Quick Filter on the Tickets page to find them first.
